Impacts of Scratch Plans on Your Credit Score

At Scratch we never perform a hard credit check when you apply for or accept a Scratch Plan, unlike a traditional credit card or many other financing options on the market. However, Scratch Plans do require a soft credit check. And like any other financing provider, your credit score could be affected if you fail to make plan payments on time.

In general, for our Scratch Plan Bi-weekly, if paid in full and on schedule there is never any negative credit impact. For our Scratch Plan 12 Months and Scratch Plan 24 Months, typically a borrower's credit score will increase slightly when you open a new Scratch Plan because you have increased the number of credit relationships and credit mix. Once the plan is paid off, this process reverses itself, causing a borrower to lose the incremental benefit from their Scratch Plan credit relationship.
